While up in Noosa earlier this year my daughter and I went on a kayaking trip through the Noosa Everglades. We had a beautiful day, even the lake was smooth as we made our way across to the river of mirrors. This is probably one of the best ways to experience the everglades as it is quiet, and we were able to experience a perfect mirror in some parts. At times the reflections were disorientating. The Noosa Everglades are only one of two everglades in the world, the other one is in Florida. Since it is too far south for crocodiles it is safe to kayak and swim, although it was not quite warm enough for me to swim on the day we were there.

This looks so beautiful!
Is there anything better in the world than being out on calm water and seeing the reflection of trees from the riverbank/shoreline?
Hard to beat…
Well, I live right next to the Florida Everglades- I didn’t realize there was another one! We have alligators in our everglades, so you wouldn’t want to swim. You could kayak though, although I haven’t done that. Your photos are beautiful! You’re inspiring me to visit our everglades this winter.
Amazing, and so much nicer without alligators!
Wow. beautiful. I didn’t know there were only two Everglades. I am glad yours don’t have alligators.
I’m looking outside as snow is whipping around and it’s like I just took a nice vacation to someplace lovely with pleasant weather and fun things to do. I’m envious, but also grateful that I got a little break from the dreary winter doldrums.
This is so beuatiful. I had no idea there were two everglades. I am now wondering if the name describes a certain landscape and not a destination. Since there are no crocodiles It is probably a bit morerelaxed being in a kayak.
