Five Substacks I Read

I’ve only really started subscribing to newsletters recently. Here are some of the ones that intersect with my current interests.

  1. The Art of Noticing – Rob Walker. Ideas, prompts and inspiration to “help you pay attention to what you care about, and care about what you pay attention to.” (free and paid options)
  2. Christian Ethics in the Wild – Myles Werntz. Intelligent exploration of the Christian moral life,engaging current questions. (Free and paid options)
  3. Bowerbird – Emma Hogan March. Personal writing and some links. “I like to think that’s what I might do here. Collect things. String words together just slightly before they’re fully formed in my mind and heart.” (Free)
  4. The Commonplace – Tsh Oxenreider “A letter about noticing what’s still beautiful, good, and true in the world. Because it’s right there.” (Free and paid options)
  5. The Convivial Society – L.M. Sacasas. Exploring the relationship between technology and society. (Free)

  1. I get newsletters from Gretchen Rubin and James Clear…and that’s about it! I just went and subscribed to the Tsh Oxenreider newsletter, though! It sounds like something right up my alley.

  2. Ooh- I subscribe to The Art of Noticing. I haven’t heard of the rest of these, but I’m going to subscribe to The Commonplace- it does sound good. Honestly, I subscribe to a bunch that I don’t even have time to read- Josh Spector, Jay Acunzo, David Perell, Elisa Doucette… I need to go through my inbox and get rid of some.

  3. I’ve not heard about any of the ones you mentioned but overall I do have way too many newsletters I am subscribed to. I need to do a deep cleaning. Usually in January
