I had on my list for this year to do a photography project. As a start, I’ve decided to take photos of the garden each month. This will have the added benefit of documenting the changes over time in our garden.
The Rules:
- I must use my Olympus camera
- Take a mix of long-distance overview photos, individual “scenes”, and macro photos.
- To be done on the 22nd of each month or the closest date if we’re away.
We’re partway through the initial redesign and planting of the main garden beds at the moment. The beds on our east and west fences are now fully planted.
The light can be a bit harsh in our courtyard, but hopefully, I’ll work out the best angles with a bit more practice. I’m also looking forward to more interesting flowers and critters for macro photography. The white flowers are coriander, which of course, has bolted in the hot weather.

What a fun challenge and great way to document the changing seasons in your space. It will be a helpful record for planning things outdoors for years to come.
Yes, I hope so!
What a gorgeous space! It is rainy and cold here; what I wouldn’t give to jump through the screen right now 🙂
Thanks, Elisabeth. Yes, our weather has been pretty good this summer and I can imagine that about now you might be looking for a change.
You really have a nice outdoor space. Enough room to entertain, but not too much actual “gardening space” (as in, manageable!) .
Thanks san. Yes, I hope it will be just the right amount of space to manage.
