Dog Beach Time

He loves to wade in but panics if it gets deep enough that he needs to swim. Now, he will prowl outside the windows at home, hoping to be let in, but that won’t happen until he’s dried off and the sand is brushed out of his coat.

  1. That picture is perfection. Riley is such a sweet dog and clearly enjoying his time at the beach <3

  2. AW!!!!! What a beautiful photo! We need more pics of happy animals right now- keep them coming!

    1. I think dog photos have replaced child photos on our camera roll at this stage in our life.

  3. I don’t have a dog, but I’m always intrigued by how some dogs love to swim and some avoid the water. Is it different by breed, or by individual dog? Inquiring minds want to know. Your pup is super cute. He looks like he’s really enjoying the water.

    1. Golden Retreivers should love the water because they were bred to retireve ducks while hunting I think. I think Riley is a bit scared because my husband threw him in the pool when he was young, we should have introduced him slowly, or with some older dogs so it wasn’t so scary.

  4. Hello Melissa! I’m popping over from Elisabeth’s blog and I’m delighted to see this adorable doggo enjoying splashing in the water!

    1. Welcome Michelle. Riley brings a lot of joy to our lives.

  5. Great picture! My boy Mulder LOVED the ocean, but we never let him go in. We have sneaker waves around here, and people have drowned while trying to save dogs that are swept away. The waves in your picture do not look dangerous at all. And boy, he looks happy!

    1. We are right at the end of Port Phillip Bay so rarely have waves, and this beach is tucked in behind the marina so is extra sheltered.

  6. I love it!! Hannah HATES water and I took her to the beach once and the look she gave me was one of utter terror. Riley should come and teach her how to be a dog!

    1. Does Hannah know how to fetch? If so, she could teach Riley that.
