101 Things: 400 Day Review

I started my 101 Things list on September 11th 2023. I’m checking my progress every 100 days. At the end of the first 300 days, I calculated that I was 25.4% complete. The 400 day mark came and went while we were away. Let’s see how I went in the next 100 days …

  • Running and Fitness – No progress

    • Read the bible in a year. Still going with this. (+19%)

  • Family and Friends
    • Celebration dinner for each family birthday (including a special celebration for E’s 21st) – G’s birthday dinner at Entrecote, S’s birthday at Mya Tiger (+14%)
    • Large gatherings (x4): we had our small group plus extras over for dinner before we went away (+25%)
    • Update our wills and POA’s – the kids are adults now so no guardian is needed and the checks and balances we put on need a rethink. Complete. (+50%)
  • Food
    • Finish cooking all the recipes in Tenderheart Cookbook. I’ve cooked another 13. (+14%)
  • For later (three things I picked partway through the challenge

Would you want to do any of these things? Do you have a long term “want to do” list?

  1. I was going to have breakfast (at 1pm) and then your posts popped in and I had to immediately read.

I love love love the progress reports. You are so good in tackling your list. As you know I have my own list and I started mine earlier than you and yet I am only 30% done. I also need to get a wriggle on.

I don’t want to but need to do the whole will and medical emergency stuff. I plan on doing so when being at the country home later that months… But I wanted to do it last year and didn’t get it done…

    1. We had it on our list for a while and it feels good to have done it. We sat the kids down and went through it too, so they know where to find everything if needed.

  2. I think 30% done when you are at 40% timewise is not bad! You can probably knock a lot of the low hanging fruit off in one go. I have a goal to scan all of the photos in my photo albums, which is going to be a job, but I would really like to get rid of the books, as they take up a lot of room!

    1. I want to get rid of the boexes of kids stuff which is why I made the goal of getting their photobooks finished. Plus it will be good to have completed that project, then it’s just my own photos and stuff that I need to consider.

  3. Congratulations on your progress! I’m new to your blog, but went and checked the 101 list too. I have had lists like this before, but I find it hard to keep track and make progress on many long-term goals at the same time and forget about it or am not able to finish it all. How do you keep track of your percentage and progress? An app would be great, right?

    1. These posts are how I keep track actually. I add to them over the course of the 100 days when I do sometihng on the list.

  4. This is so fun! It’s nice to have a long-term project that isn’t suuuuper long-term. I think you’re making great progress.

    1. THanks, yes, often you need a bit longer than a year to get things done but it’s good to have a time limit to push you do do the things.

  5. I wonder what fitness goals you made no progress on when you walked from France to Germany, and all over Paris as well? I would think that must count for something, but guessing your goal was more specific.

It sounds like you’re making great progress!

    1. My fitness goals are all mainly to do with running, which I haven’t been able to do.

      1. Got it! And clearly I said Germany but I meant Spain. 🙂

  6. It’s really impressive how you keep chipping away at this. I started to run all our neighborhood streets but I fell off the bandwagon and haven’t finished the map. Thanks for the reminder!
