Spotted Photo Theme: June Treasures

I’ve been joining in with Hanna’s Spotted Photo Theme challenges each month this year. This month the theme is treasures. First up I have a photo from our trip last year to Spain to do the Camino. A lot of the large cathedrals have museums attached that house various historical treasures. I’ve picked one piece from Burgos. I love the intricate carvings on this piece.

Kids love to make collections of “treasures.” This is a little collection left on my bedside table by my eldest in 2004.

My eldest was given this lost tooth container for her first birthday. I guess you could say a lost tooth gets swapped out for treasure. Well, that is if you have a good tooth fairy—ours was always a little haphazard.

My kids were of course my treasures. This rock formation in Monument Valley is called the pancake stack so of course these two had to ham it up, pretending to eat the pancakes.

All three of my kids were huge lego fans and at one stage I was constantly finding their creations left in prominent places of honour around the house.

So that is my interpretation of the treasures theme this month. What kind of things do you consider treasures?

  1. I love the pancake stack!
When we moved here in 2023, all my bookmarks – that I had collected over the years, that the boys had made for me when they were little – were lost. I was devastated. But friends started giving me bookmarks to build my collection up, and then my son made me bookmarks for Christmas, and I treasure all of them.

    1. Oh no, I wonder where they all went. I don’t suppose you still have some unpacked boxes? I’m glad that friends and family have been chipping in to rebuild your collection.

  2. Those Legos can be really tough on feet, when the piece of Legos are left all over the floor. Treasures to me – the photos of our family or kids, and the many cute papers and drawings from when they were little. I framed a bunch of them and hung them up in the basement stairwell. Why keep them in a box?

    1. Photos are probably my main treasure too. I had framed kids’ artwork in our previous home.

  3. What an interesting theme. Since my camera is 99% my dog and cat, I guess they’d have to be my treasures!

    1. Of course, they are your treasures and very cute ones too!

  4. Great interpretations of the theme Melissa! Thank you for joining again.

I love your kids little treasure piles, found and assembled, and the fact that you took those photos! So super sweet. 💕

    1. I’m really glad I took photos that captured some of these easily forgotten details of choldhood.

  5. What a great way to visualize the treasures in your life. That rock formation is unique. And the treasures your kids left on the night stand – precious.
