Reviewing my progress on my May intentions and setting my intentions for June. We’ll see how much gets done this month. We’re currently in Noosa, still working, but when we log off in the afternoon, we usually walk along the river. It’s pretty hard to handle.
Daily Routines: I had a little bit of a hiatus on these during our drive up to Noosa, but I’m working on getting back into my routines now that we are settled into our home away from home. I’m going to continue to try to incorporate foam rolling/mobility into my weekdays.
Three times a week is a habit (blogging, gardening, photography): These are going well, although for obvious reasons, gardening is on pause while we are away from home.
Read 52 books this year: I finished three books in May. I started A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon but had to return it to the library when we headed up here. Goodreads says I’m one book ahead of schedule.
Travel: We are in Noosa! The road trip was great. The Pacific Highway is much better now than the Newel Highway, with lots of pretty scenery to drive off the highway and see. I’d love to explore the New South Wales Coast more. We still need to book the rest of our accommodation for our trip in November.
Home: I sorted the laundry and got the garden ready to go away. We also ordered the study cabinetry, which will be ready to install when we get home. No home intentions for this month while we are away.
Photography: I scanned my youngest daughter’s school memorabilia. The eldest’s will need to wait until I get home. I’m partially finished year two in my son’s primary school album. I want to finish his album in June and start on my youngest daughter’s. I’d also like to take some walks to photograph things around here.
Round the Neighbourhood: My goal to run the streets is progressing well but is on hold now. Current progress:
- Brighton: 169 of 276 streets ⬆️ 30, 60.79% ⬆️ 10.79%
- Elwood: 60 of 94 ⬆️ 4, 63.83% ⬆️ 14.89%
- Gardenvale: 2 of 10 ⬆️ 1, 20% ⬆️ 10.00%
Sustainability: It is more challenging when we’re not home, but I remembered to pack our reusable coffee cups, and we’ve been using them.
Run: I ran 205km in May, so still not quite at the level to get to 2500km for the year. This month I have 235km on my plan as I’m getting ready for the Gold Coast Half-Marathon.
Entertain: This is still on hold while we’re away.
Hubby and I have decided to try to deal with one of our outstanding to-do’s each week while we are here. This week it’s deciding where to direct our giving for the financial year, which ends in June. Then we will tackle top-up super for me, POV and wills and booking accommodation for our trip in November.

Great job on your goals, Melissa. You’re putting in some serious mileage. I have to admit I’ve been neglecting my running a bit in favor of the bike and I need to find a balance 😉 Maybe put another race on my calendar (that always helps). BTW, it does NOT look like you’re walking in the picture… both feet are in the air 😉
I think it would be a lot harder to get high kms in if You are also doing a lot of other activities. It’s not necessarily a bad thing though, if yoiu enjpoy the bike that’s what matters and if you’re not planning on racing then doing what you want to right now is the way to go.
Sounds like you’re doing great! Yes, being away from home definitely disrupts some goals, but you’re doing well with the ones you can focus on. i have a similar reading goal- 50 books for the year. That’s always my goal, and I’m always on track until the fall and then things get so busy I end up falling short. But maybe this is the year!
That’s not a bad race picture! I have some really weird ones, where I look like I’m marching (?)
I think this will be your year for hitting your reading goal. Especially since you’ve decided to make it a priority in your summer. My friend took the photo of me running, and I agree, it’s not as bad as most race photos are. I am usually pulling a face but luckily this is side on, so who knows?
