101 Things in 1001 Days: 300-Day Check-In

I started my 101 Things list on September 11th 2023. I’m checking my progress every 100 days. At the end of the first 200 days, I calculated that I was 19.96% complete. Let’s see how I went in the next 100 days …

  • Reading and Writing

    • Read 120 books – I’ve read another 13 books which makes 37 in total (+8.6%)
    • 50 lists blog project – I’ve only added 1 more list (2%)
    • Read 5 Miles Franklin Award Winners – I read two more, No More Lip and Eucalyptus (+40%)
    • Update pages on my blog – done

  • Running and Fitness – No progress. My stress fracture derailed my marathon entry and I entered the City to Surf but I won’t be right to run it.

  • Home – No progress.

  • Sustainability

  • Neighbourhood – No Progress

  • Melbourne and Surrounds
  • Travel – No progress

  • Faith
    • Try out some new rituals in my QT (x5) – I’ve been writing out the same prayer every morning and reading a prayer from a prayer book at the end. I’m enjoying both of these additions. (+40%)
    • Read the bible in a year(ish) – still going with this and am just under halfway (+25%)

  • Memories and Photography
    • I’m partway through the second of the kids primary school albums. (10%)
    • I started a neighbourhood A-Z project in April but need to wait for my foot to heal to finish it.

  • Community – No progress. The stress fracture really limited how much I could do.

  • Experience

    • Go to a live show (x4) – We went to Wicked (+25%)
    • And I’m so sad because I missed seeing the southern lights. I didn’t realise they would be visible from the beach just down the road from us when there was that big solar storm in May.

  • Food
    • I’ve cooked seven more recipes from the Tenderheart Cookbook. (+5%)
    • Bottling or preserving (x10) – I made Sweet Chilli Sauce and Green Cherry Tomatoes and Lemongrass Pickles. (+20%)

  • Family and Friends
    • Small Gatherings (x10) – In May I had my friends over and we had K’s family. (+20%)
    • Celebration dinner for each family members birthday – we went to Vaporetto for H’s birthday. (+7%)
    • Update our wills and POA – this is with the lawyers now. (+50%)
    • Have my school friends over – done in May

  • For later (3 things I picked partway through the challenge)
    • Camino di Santiago – booked for October
    • Finish my online French course – working on this. Currently finishing off module 1, level 1.
    • Make a new list

So that works out to be 5.42% more of the list complete which means I need to get a wriggle on. If you made a list like this what kinds of things would you include.

  1. So many things you’re keeping track of! It’s really jarring how an injury can impact so many aspects of your life. I hope that heals quickly and you get back to all of your goals.

    1. Yes, an injury that affects general mobility can really impact a lot of areas of life. All the more reaosn to cherish the ablilty to move well while we have it I guess.

  2. Wow, what a list! I’m impressed, and glad that you are making good progress. I’m sorry the injury is putting such a damper on things. When it comes to musical theater, I find that it’s just not my jam. The one exception (thus far) has been Wicked, which I really enjoyed! Others I’ve seen but felt meh about: Miss Saigon, Book of Mormon, Spamalot. Saw Hamilton on Disney Plus, and also, meh. I hope you loved Wicked!

    1. Yes, we loved Wicked.

  3. Wow! So many wonderful goals. I can really relate to a. theater productions/plays/musicals and b. community. I really want to see Alladin with L in the fall or before school starts- her and I can go to NYC (R cannot sit through a play yet lol). Also, community for me is a struggle… mainly because my weekdays are so busy and then weekends are catch-up days. But now that I started yoga back up- there is a community of like-minded people at the studio.

    1. It can be hard to fit everything in and sometimes you just have to prioritise some things over others.

  4. The injury is such a bummer. It can derail a list.
For me it was the pandemic for my last list. So many things were just not manageable.
I feel like your are much more done with your list than I am with mine and I started earlier. I will do my Check- in in August and then I have only 10 month or so left to get everything else done.
I love how those kind of lists make you work towards your goal and re-evaluate if the goals are still a priority.

    1. I agree Tobia. I hope you can get some good progrees on your list in the next ten months, or decide which things you want to prioritise.
