    Good Things Friday

So this week, my foot has not improved, and now I have a cold, so it’s not great, but I went to the physio this morning and have a plan for the week, which is a good thing. I will need to be off my feet just in case it is a stress reaction in the bone, so no running or walking for me, but I can ride and go to the gym once I’m over my cold. I also have some non-weight-bearing exercises in case it is the tendons. We will reassess next week, and if it’s not getting better, I’ll need to go for an MRI. In spite…

    Good Things Friday

We have had some beautiful Autumn weather here this week, as well as some heavy rain. Here’s a few good things from my week. The Weekend Although I had vertigo on Saturday afternoon and lingering effects (including the headache) on Sunday and into Monday, there were still some good things. G arrived home from overseas early Saturday morning. The weather was a beautiful Autumn day. I went for a bike ride in the afternoon down the coast trail, and it was stunning. I replaced a run to lessen the load on my sore foot and then stopped at Hampton to replenish the pantry stocks at the bulk food store. I…

    Good Things Friday

G left for China on Sunday, so I’ve been largely solo adulting this week. I must say it is much better than solo parenting. Monday, family dinner was still on, but it was only the girls and I. The weather has been rainy and colder here, we are moving fully into autumn. The leaves on our maple tree have just started to turn. Cool Bloggers Walking Club I’m joining Elisabeth’s CBWC in April, and I’ve decided to pair it with my planned A-Z photography project. As I walk this month, I’ll be looking for things around the neighbourhood that start with all the letters of the alphabet. Above is a…

    Good Things Friday

Easter Weekend with my Family So many good things last weekend. When we’re down at my parents a major portion of our time is spent thinking about what to eat, shopping for food to eat, preparing food to eat and eating. Everyone pitches in in some capacity, whether with the shopping, the cooking or the cleaning up. Meals stretch for a while with lots of chatting while we’re eating. Aside from that, everyone is comfortable wandering off to do their own thing, but we also spend a lot of time sitting, either outside under the grapevine or in the living room, just chatting. Good times! There were also several memorable…

Good Things Friday – Good Friday Edition

Easter Weekend We are back down at my parent’s place for the Easter weekend with various extended family members. The weather is stunning, and I’m looking forward to running (I hurt my foot on Tuesday, but I’m going to test it tomorrow; hopefully, my 26K will be a go on Sunday), walking, eating and lots of sitting outside chatting. I wish we could do both this and celebrate Easter at our church. I was thinking maybe next year we come down after the Good Friday service, but my nephew just arrived and said the traffic was horrendous, and it took him three hours to get here. Our Anniversary We had…

    Good Things Friday

Studley Parkrun Saturday, I did another Parkrun. The Studley Parkrun is not the quickest Parkrun (it has a bottleneck near the start, then you cross this bridge which swings and sways with all the runners; all paths are uneven gravel, with tree roots and a switchback section but on a perfect, still, sunny, morning the setting is stunning. Although I really do hate that bridge it tends to set off my motion sickness! Afterwards, we walked across the bridge, which is when I took this photo, to meet the rest of the running club for our pre-season breakfast. A Store-Bought Relish That’s Good My dad usually makes tomato relish for…

    Good Things Friday

Weekend @ Pt Lonsdale It was a long weekend last weekend and we spent it down at my parents’ place with a selection of my siblings and their kids. It’s good just to hang out and spend quantity of time together. My dad’s ankle is healing well, he has another ten days with the lighter plaster cast on and then he should be right for a moonboot. A Beach Day The long weekend was hot. 40C on Saturday and 39C on Sunday. Saturday afternoon I had a nap and then it was too close to dinner to head off, but Sunday my daughter and I got down to the beach…

    Good Things Friday

It’s once again been two weeks since my last good things post, but we were away hiking last Friday. Our trip was a very good thing over the fortnight but I’ll write about that in some other posts. I do want to mention a couple of things though … Extended time with good friends The first weekend of our trip we hired a house and invited our friends (S and N) who live in Launceston to come down for the weekend. They moved to Tasmania just over a year ago and I’ve missed them. S and I caught up last October, watching the Melbourne Marathon and agreed we would get…
