Riley Meets Alphie

As promised here is a massive photo dump of Riley and Alphie’s first meet. Alphie is my daughters new puppy. She picked him up from the breeder on Monday and bought him around yesterday to meet Riley. Riley and Alphie are distantly related, I think Riley’s mum is five generations back from Alphie. They are going to need to be firm friends as Riley stays with the girls when we go away and Alphie will be coming over to our place for frequent visits. Judging from yesterday, Riley is going to need a bit of practice being a big brother—there was a lot of inappropriate humping, but hopefully with time they will both get used to each other.

The girls were a little surprised by the neediness of Alphie. H got about 3 hours sleep the night before and he cried whenever one of them was not with him. Let’s just say that they did not get up to Riley in the night when we first got him and they were away at school during the day. From memory though the puppies settle down within a few days, although the toilet training is constant for a few weeks. We will see how Alphie goes. No messes inside at our place yesterday.

Riley checking out what’s happening outside his gate. What is taking H so long to come inside?
Riley can’t get at Alphie here. He soon started barking and Alphie started barking back. so funny!
Alphie wants to eat all my plants … and run all through the garden
Both of them lying down lasted about 1 minute
