Looking Forward, Looking Back – August 2023

I’m excited for Spring! I even left our sliding door open today because the temperature is so mild.

Three times a week is a habit: For the second month in a row, it was a no, no and no. I’m still wanting to do these, so I’m recommitting this month.

Read: Another small reading month with two books finished, but I was very close to finishing another two and they are finished now.

Travel: I have a pretty detailed plan for our trip in October/November and I’ve started making some bookings. This month there are a few tickets that come available 30 days prior to booking so I’ll do those and finish booking the train tickets. I have two more blog posts I want to do from our Queensland trip. I’ll finish these this month.

Home: Hubby has now decided we need an awning over our table outside so we have been looking at those. We need to finalise this in the next couple of weeks so we can put in an order before we go away.

Photography: I’ve finished up to year four for my son’s primary school album. I will finish this off this month.

Round the Neighbourhood: I’ve run/walked more of Brighton this month. 192 of 278 streets ⬆️ 23, 69.06% ⬆️ 8.27%. I still need to share some of what I’ve been noticing. I also didn’t get to the local art show, luckily it’s still on for a few more months.

Sustainability: I’m back into more of a routine and have been able to shop and cook more sustainably.

Run: I ran 140km in August and was just starting to build some momentum when I caught a cold off Hubby. I feel like I’m back to square one again. I’ll keep plugging away.

Entertain: Family dinners and small group were our only entertaining this month … apart from me hosting a meeting of possible volunteers over morning coffee.

Other: I got a team together for mainly music so this month I need to submit the application and work with the team to begin the set up. We also got our health insurance sorted. This month – wills and POAs.

I’ve been away, so catching up on blog reading. It sounds like you’ve gotten a lot done in August, and I’m glad you’re feeling better after your cold. Blah, being sick throws a real wrench into things! I’m glad you’re enjoying the first touches of spring, and your books from your other post sound interesting!

I love reading other people’s reflections on goals and intentions. Well done! I have not hosted people in a while… Hopefully, with fall and cooler temperatures coming I can invite fellow moms over for some tea and popovers.

I’ll never wrap my mind around the fact that people in the Southern Hemisphere are heading into spring in October – haha.

It sounds like you had a great August.
