101 Things #2: 100 Day Check-In

It’s time to check how I’m going with my list. I have a lot of process goals which are usually things that I want to include more of in my life, rather than a single discreet thing to do. This time round I’m tracking my completion with a spreadsheet. Stephany asked me about it, so I thought now is a good time to give the quick run down. The screenshot above is the summary sheet which draws everything together and calculates my progress. The tabs are where I fill in what I’ve done. I’ve mostly used a COUNTA formula which counts all the rows that are filled in. This is then taken through to the summary worksheet to calculate my percentage completed. I fill the tabs in every 1-2 weeks. Is this completely over the top? Yes! Do I love it anyway? Of course!

Now for how I’m tracking so far:

Completed:

  • Book list pages for my blog: I’m working through some prize winning books as well as the Read Around the World Challenge so I wanted dedicated pages for these. You can access these from my Every Single X page.
  • Go to Germany – I’m in Germany now!
This is where we’re staying for the next three days

In Progress:

  • Read 5 books by Indigenous Australian authors – I read Flock: First Nations Stories Then and Now edited by Ellen van Neerven and Carpentaria by Alexis Wright (40%)

  1. Where are you in Germany, Melissa? Is that a hotel? It looks amazing!!
We’ll be in Germany next week visiting Kai’s mum, but we are in Mölln, which is east of Hamburg. Probably too far away from you to say hi!

I’m impressed that you’re managing to keep three languages going on Duolingo. That is a lot of moving parts to keep track of, spreadsheet or not!

    1. We are in the Rhine area at the moment before heading to Berlin on Thursday.

I sometimes forget whether a word is Spanish or Italian or both!

  2. This is so inspiring, Melissa! And I really think the percentage complete is genius!

    1. I’m hoping the spreadsheet will help keep me on track

  3. THAT’S WHERE YOU’RE STAYING IN GERMANY???? Omg. I cannot wait for the travel recaps!

    1. We have moved from there now, but it was fun, although not so fun for our legs as it was up the top of a very steep hill above town

  4. These are so great! Love the stats with it, my stats heart sings.

    1. Yes, sometimes it’s fun to go overboard on these things. I’m channeling my daughter who has spreadsheets for meal planning and chores. She has also had them for running and job hunting previously

  5. That’s awesome! I have a combo of tracking on paper and spreadsheet and somehow that works for me, but I am envious of your fancy tracking!!

    1. Whatever works is the best system!

  6. That’s some castle you stayed in. I will hear from you about it soon.
I love your tracking and how you keep the percentages moving forward. I am too lazy to do that but it is inspiring. There is always a next list. Maybe then.

Also very impressed with your three Duolingo languages.

    1. I am finding I am sometimes wondering whether I am translating the word into the right language when I am doing duolingo. I have a little routine now for doing it and that seems to help
