Looking Forward, Looking Back – September 2023

We went into the city last week to celebrate my daughter’s birthday at Chin Chin. There were six of us so we had to eat off the Feed Me menu and we chose the option where the server picks for you guided by any likes/dislikes. The food was excellent. We also walked through Hosier Lane on the way there and back and checked out the current artwork.

Now, onto my progress on my 2023 intentions.

Three times a week is a habit: almost, apart from the weeks I had vertigo. The blogging probably fared better than photography and gardening. I need to get the summer veggie garden in this month.

Read: It was a good reading month. I finished six books (reviews to come). Goodreads says I’m two books behind schedule on my way to reading 52 books for the year.

Travel: I’ve booked all the train tickets and I just need to finish booking the rest of the tours and some restaurants for our October trip. I also need to finalise my packing list. We’re travelling carry-on and my airline has a 7kg limit with only a very small personal item so I can’t just throw things in at the last minute. We also got confirmation that our trip to Israel is going ahead so we need to get the plane tickets and finalise the Jordan add-on.

Home: We ordered the awning for our outside table and it will be ready to install when we get back from overseas.

Photography: I’ve finished my son’s primary school album. This month I need to catch up on uploading and backing up my photos from the last few months. I may start my daughter’s primary school album but that will depend on time.

Surburban Railway Line Graffiti, Brighton

Round the Neighbourhood: I’ve run/walked more of Brighton this month. 200 of 278 streets ⬆️ 8, 71.94% ⬆️ 2.88%.

Run: I only ran 66km in September. I’ve had vertigo twice and that has completely derailed my training. I will try to build up this month, but very carefully.

Entertain: We had a friend over to join in our family dinner one Monday.

Other: We got approved to start a mainly music group and now I need to organise the team training and set everything going so the team can get ready for some practice sessions after I get back from my holiday. Wills and POA’s still need to be done.

Your trip is soon! How exciting! I hope the vertigo continues to improve – you still managed to fit in some great things. Kudos for getting the photobook done. I know they are a labour of love…

Are you in Israel now? I hope not! If you are, I hope that you got out before the conflict!

That is really a bummer about your vertigo; I hate it when good intentions (running etc.) get waylaid by something that is so beyond our control. It really can be frustrating! I have had some stomach pains that have caused me to cancel runs and then have had trouble figuring out why I am having them! Sometimes finding a solution is hard.
