New York Museums – Sat 4 Nov
This morning G had to drop his bag at the bag drop in Central Park so we walked together to do that. Central Park is looking beautiful with all the autumn leaves. After dropping the bag G headed back to the hotel and I went to The Met. So, it’s huge, but I am obsessed with very old things so I chose to spend most of my time in the Egyptian galleries, with a few other highlights. I also walked through one of the current exhibitions Tree and Serpent which contained early Buddhist art from India which was fascinating. After The Met I caught the subway to the 9/11 Memorial.…

Lightscape 2023 – The Royal Botanic Gardens
Last year I was keen to see Lightscape at the Royal Botanic Gardens, but the tickets were sold out when I got myself organised. This year I vowed not to make the same mistake, so I decided we would go as soon as we had a good weather forecast. A flurry of messages in our family group chat established that the kids were keen to go, so last Wednesday, we went. Time – Rone Exhibition
For my birthday last week Hubby and I went to Time the Rone Exhibition at Flinders Street Station. Rone is a street artist and creates the most amazing multi-sensory installations featuring his signature female muses. This is the third Rone exhibition we have been to, and we have loved all of them. Each has its theme. Time explores mid-century Melbourne. Each room on the third floor of the station depicts an aspect of working-class Melbourne in intricate detail. There is always so much to look at his exhibitions, and even the windows in the hallway were plastered with newspapers from the period. Everything is carefully selected and arranged to achieve…
